The Medical Telemetry is a 20-bed medical-telemetry unit that operates twenty-four hours per day and seven days per week. The patient population is comprised of adults with primarily medical diagnoses requiring cardiac monitoring. Cardiovascular (CHF, stable AMI, chest pain, angina, atrial fibrillation, post-cardiac catheterization without PCI) and respiratory (COPD, respiratory failure, pneumonia with Cardiac issues of concern) diagnoses comprise the most common reason for admission. The average daily census for Med-Tele is 18 patients. Ancillary support such as Respiratory Therapy, Social Services, Nutritional support, and Rehabilitative Services are available using consults to appropriately care for patients.
