USCIS has announced that it has received enough electronic registrations for unique beneficiaries to fulfill the fiscal year (FY) 2026 H-1B CAP limit of 85,000 beneficiaries during the registration lottery process.
The H-1B CAP lottery is designed for positions that necessitate a Bachelor’s degree. This includes various roles in the healthcare sector, such as Medical Technologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Registered Nurses.
Petitions for those selected in the lottery can be submitted from April 1, 2025, to June 30, 2025. Should the number of CAP petitions submitted during this 90-day window fall below 85,000, USCIS may initiate additional selection rounds in the lottery. Registrants whose applications are marked as “Submitted” in their online accounts have not been rejected and remain eligible for consideration in subsequent rounds.
It is crucial to understand that being selected in the lottery does not guarantee H-1B approval. Petitioners are required to provide supporting evidence or demonstrate eligibility for approval when submitting petitions for beneficiaries with valid registrations.
