H1B Visa Sponsorship Program

The H1B Lottery

H1B Lottery Registration Opens in March 2025. Greenstaff International will be submitting International Healthcare Professionals into the Lottery. If you are interested, please apply along with the below required supporting documents.

The H-1B lottery is a random selection process where the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) chooses which potential H-1B visa applicants can submit a full petition, from a pool of registrations that typically exceeds the available visa cap, essentially meaning that if more people register than there are visas available, a lottery determines who gets to file a petition; this process is used to fairly distribute the limited number of H-1B visas each year, with no consideration for the applicant's merit beyond basic eligibility criteria; if selected in the lottery, the employer must then file a complete H-1B petition on the applicant's behalf within a specified timeframe.

Key points about the H-1B lottery:

  • Registration period: During a designated window, employers register potential H-1B applicants with USCIS.
  • Random selection: Once the registration period closes, USCIS uses a computer-generated lottery to randomly select a certain number of registrations, based on the available visa cap.
  • Notification and petition filing: If selected in the lottery, the employer is notified and has a specific timeframe to file a full H-1B petition for the chosen applicant.
  • No guarantee of approval: Even if selected in the lottery, the petition still needs to be reviewed and approved by USCIS, meaning the applicant is not guaranteed an H-1B visa.
